Storm Water Floods a Home in El Segundo

The deluge finally came and inundated this low-lying home in El Segundo. The rainwater entered because the gutter system clogged, at least the water was almost free of contaminants. This quality of the water allowed our SERVPRO technicians to extract the liquid with little debris since there was no mud, silt, or chemical elements. We relocated the furniture, cartons, and belongings to a dry part of the structure before beginning the extraction. We used heated air movers and low grain dehumidifiers to rid the lingering moisture in the fibers and the air and then applied a disinfectant. We salvaged the baseboards by quickly detaching and floating the carpets to mitigate the degree of wicking and thus eliminate the need for replacement.
