Mold in a Vacant Home
This bank owned property was not looked after properly, and a significant mold problem followed. The small leak inside the wall wicked to moisten a large corner area of this bedroom. Using HEPA filtered vacuums to prevent mold, debris, and spores from scattering to other regions of this house, we gutted non-salvageable sections of the walls and baseboards, wrapped them per code, and removed them from the premises. We floated the carpet to inspect and found that it was possible to salvage; we then applied an antimicrobial chemical. We disinfected the HVAC system, sprayed the opened wall with antifungal products, verified that the treated area was dry and mold free and turned the property back to the bank for the rebuild.
